We’re a young team, but we have extensive experience in all aspects of the ag industry: agronomy, precision agriculture, merchandise, insurance, and the financial management that provides options around cropping finance to suit your individual needs.
We work with some of the best research and development businesses, so you always have access to the latest innovations and technologies.
Our agronomists are constantly training and updating their skills at our specialised trial site. We work with research companies evaluating new chemistry as it comes on the market, so our merchandise arm always has the latest information about fertiliser and ag chem to make sure you get the products you need, at the best price. When you work with Crop Opti you’re connected to a network of expertise.
Trav has worked in ag for over 20 years. He’s part of the agronomy team as well as managing the procurement of fertiliser, ag chem and finance facilities, making sure clients get the right chemical at the right price, and avoiding shortages. Trav works closely with research and development companies at the Crop Opti trial site, bringing new products to market and keeping everyone up to date with new products. As well as looking after his own agronomy clients, Trav also works with machinery companies to help growers utilize their machinery purchases to enable them to achieve better results through the technology these machines provide.
Matt has 15 years of agronomy experience, nine with Crop Opti. His knowledge of precision ag is built on the experience of running his own farm at Pimpinio. Matt leads a growing program of variable rate applications of fertiliser and chemical spray maps, zonal testing, data management and machinery set-ups. A commitment to seeder set-up and getting plants sown correctly to achieve better germination, as well as chemical safety for emerging crops has gained Matt a comprehensive list of clients dealing with both disc and tyne machines. He’s able to discuss the benefits of each to growers looking to convert systems to what suits their operations best.
Waz has been with Crop Opti for nine years, two of which he spent in Canada, gaining valuable experience working with Nutrien Ag. He has resumed his role within Crop Opti, looking after agronomy clients and working with them on purchasing their cropping inputs. He deeply understands market trends, allowing his clients to benefit when it comes to product shortages and pricing increases around fertiliser and ag chem. Waz offers an experienced agronomy approach and a solid understanding of precision ag and plant nutrition, making him a solid all-rounder in agronomy decisions.

Kate has been working in the background at Crop Opti from the beginning, but has now become a lot more hands on and a regular member of our team. She manages all the accounts and administration side of our business, adding a “Woman’s” touch to the office, and keeping us all on our toes! We believe having someone local in the office who can provide a friendly and informative solution to your accounts has been a great asset for growers, readily being able to speak to someone daily. Her knowledge within the industry continues to grow, and she is eager to assist to ensure our growers receive the very best service and we stand out from the rest.

She has a keen interest in Agronomy and spending time in the Precision Ag side of our business, which she is gaining a greater understanding of our drive and direction with achieving better results for growers.
